With the announcement that the expected returning quarterback would focus his senior year on baseball, and not play football, much attention at Caldwell County is focused on the position. Over the summer, senior Shane Burns stated he would not play for the Tigers in 2017, and instead focus his attentions on the baseball diamond. Stepping up in the starter’s role will be junior Joby Jaggers, who obviously has quite a football lineage running through his blood.

Tiger head coach David Barnes told YourSportsEdge.com that getting reps for his quarterback during the practice season, and the non-district portion of a very tough schedule, would be the key for his team to make another post season run. The Tigers will open the season August 18th, hosting Christian County.
