Several local volleyball teams will be busy at the Bluegrass State Games that begin Friday night in Lexington.
University Heights Academy (26-11) will play a pair of pool games at Lafayette High School. The Lady Blazers play defending Third Region champion Apollo (34-6) at 7pm (Eastern Time) tonight and North Bullitt (9-22) at 8pm.
Christian County (17-16) will play their pool games at the Kentucky Basketball Academy. They play Taylor County (34-4) at 8pm and Campbell County (25-14) at 9pm.
Caldwell County (28-10) will play at Dunbar High School against Covington Holy Cross (13-20) at 7pm and Greenup County (5-29) at 9pm.
Hopkinsville (16-18) starts pool play in the Bluegrass State Games tonight at Henry Clay HS. They play West Carter (15-17) at 8pm and last year’s state runner-up Henry Clay (37-7) at 9pm.
Hopkinsville and Caldwell County will also have JV teams playing at the games.
Friday’s pool play games will determine the championship bracket positions for Saturday’s games at the Kentucky Basketball Academy.
