Hopkinsville Picks Up 12th Straight District Victory

Caleb Joiner scored two first half goals for the Tigers in their win over Fort Campbell Tuesday.

The Hopkinsville boys’ soccer team got off to a big start with a 10-0 win over the Fort Campbell Falcons at the Stadium of Champions Tuesday night.  Two first half goals from senior forward Caleb Joiner and a goal from senior forward Tyler Aldridge gave the Tigers a 3-0 halftime advantage.

Senior midfielder Braden Casey added two second half goals and senior midfielder Ethan Noel, sophomore midfielder Tyler Greenwell, freshman midfielder Jose Favela, and senior defender Cameron Ellis each notched a goal.  Noel also registered four assists, and junior forward Ryan Roussel and senior midfielder Newcomb Maddux added an assist each.

Junior goalkeeper Ethan Bailey got the shutout for the Tigers.  Hopkinsville Coach Tyler Stallons stated he was glad to see his team get going offensively and post the shutout for a strong start to the season.

Hopkinsville has won 12 straight games against Eighth District opponents dating back to the 2014 district title game.

Hopkinsville will be looking for another Eighth District win when it travels to Givens Field Thursday for a matchup with the University Heights Academy Blazers.  The Falcons take on Madisonville-North Hopkins Thursday in Madisonville.
