Christian County Sweeps Past Todd County Central

Christian County rebounded from their first loss of the season with a straight set win over Todd County Central Thursday at Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium. The Lady Colonels won 25-21, 25-10, 25-9.

Elizabeth Gibbs and Dawn Paumen set the pace by serving six aces in the contest, while Alexis Poor had 19 assists and four aces. Kathryn Buchanan had eight kills and Courtney Smith added six, while Ariyonna Johnson had seven kills and four digs for the Lady Colonels (1-1).

Todd County (0-2) was led by Bailey Conquest’s four kills and three assists. Kinley Reding and Alma Guerra each had six digs, but Guerra left the game in the third set when she hit her head on the floor. Lady Rebel head coach Bret Henderson said the contest was delayed for five minutes while an EMT parent in attendance treated Guerra, who likely suffered a concussion.

Christian County will host UHA Thursday, while Todd County Central hosts Franklin-Simpson Tuesday.
