Late Flurry Helps HCA to Tie at Evansville Tourney

A late flurry of goals by Thomas West helped Heritage Christian Academy force a 4-4 tie with Gibson Southern, IN in the first game of the Evansville Bosse Invitational Soccer Tournament Friday.

West scored first for the Warriors on a free kick in the first half. Gibson Southern answered with three goals to end the first half and one more in the second.

West tallied the final three goals of the game to force the tie.

HCA Head Coach Tony Henson said the Warriors were able to grit out the tie after senior goalie Kameron Cunningham left with an ankle injury. He said his status for Saturday’s games is doubtful.

HCA (0-1-1) will continue play Saturday against Mount Vernon, IN and North Knox, IN.
