Troy Alexander and Kyle Bleidt were key parts of one of the most talented classes to ever come through the Trigg County Boys’ soccer program.  Their class finished with an overall 51-26-4 record and 4 consecutive District 5 championships.  Troy was an All 5th District Team selection all 4 years, and Kyle was a three-time honoree.  Both were selected 1st Team All 2nd Region as seniors, with Troy also named his sophomore and junior seasons.  Troy was also honored as an All State Honorable Mention in 2016, along with his older brother Blaine in 2012, only the second All State player in program history.  Kyle was the team’s leading scorer his senior year with 32 goals and 12 assists, adding to his 4-year totals of 56 goals and 28 assists.  Kyle’s 56 goals were good enough to place him 6th in the program’s all-time scoring list.  Troy finished with 22 goals and 11 assists for his senior season, leaving him with career totals of 76 goals and 40 assists, and placing him 4th all-time in goals and 3rd in assists.  Troy’s numbers make him only the 6th all-time member of the program’s 30/30 Club.

The next phase of both Troy and Kyle’s careers will play out in Owensboro, Kentucky.  Troy has signed to play at NCAA Division 2 school, Kentucky Wesleyan College, joining former Hopkinsville standout and 2015 graduate, Austin Moore, on the 2017 Panthers team.  KWC Head Coach John Fusco describes Troy as a “fearless competitor with a tireless work rate,” and feels his strong field awareness will help him transition to the college game.  Coach Fusco expects Troy to contribute in the midfield, and make an impact on the team right away.

Kyle will play his college soccer at NAIA school, Brescia University.  He joins a Bearcats team that already includes fellow Western Kentucky player and 2016 Caldwell County graduate, Landon Holt.  Brescia Coach Will Van Nostrand lauds Kyle’s ability to play simple and make everyone around him better.  Van Nostrand calls him a, “smart forward who has the ability to contribute to the team with both goals and assists.”  Interestingly, after years of being teammates Kyle and Troy will see their first college action from opposite ends of the field.  On Wednesday, August 23rd, the Panthers and the Bearcats will square off in a preseason scrimmage.
