For the second match in a row, the Lyon County Lyons used a very quick start to put an opponent in an early corner, and this time it led to their second consecutive All A 2nd Region soccer championship, as the Lyons knocked off Caldwell County 5-2.
The Lyons got goals from Max Wadlington and Bryson Penn in a two minute span in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. Penn added another goal late in the first half to send the Lyons to the break up 3-0.
Lyon County took less than two minutes of the 2nd half to extend their lead on another Bryson Penn goal.
Caldwell County then attempted to pull themselves back into the contest with goals from Boyce Nichols and Mitchell Scott, to cut the lead to 4-2 with still more than 27 minutes left in the contest. The two teams battled scoreless from there until another Max Wadlington goal with 4:46 to go sealed the championship win for Lyon County.
The Lyons go to 3-1 on the season and advance to sectional play in the All A. Caldwell County falls to 2-2 on the season.
