The Caldwell County Tigers got off to a very quick start Friday night and then held off the Graves County Eagles for a 27-10 win at Tiger Stadium. Caldwell County put up 21 points in just over the first six minutes of the contest, thanks in large part to two Eagles mistakes.
Just a minute and a half into the contest, Dylan Cavanaugh returned a dropped snap by Graves County on a punt attempt to give Caldwell a 7-0 lead. After a a Dylan Gray touchdown run, the Tiger defense struck again as Hunter VanHooser scored on an interception return to make it 21-0. That would end the scoring for the first half, as Caldwell County took the big lead to the locker room.
In the second half, Graves County cut the lead to 21-10 with just under 10 minutes to go, but another Dylan Gray touchdown run sealed the deal, as the Tigers picked up their first win of the season. Caldwell County will now go on the road for the first time next Friday night as they head over to the Stadium of Champions to take on Hopkinsville.
