For the second season in a row, the Lyon County boys’ soccer team fell to 1st Region All “A” champions Murray High School (3-2). The Lyons (3-2), ranked 8th in YourSportsEdge.com’s most recent 2nd Region rankings, lost 4-1 on Saturday, ending their run in the All “A” Classic. The Lyons were looking to advance to the All-A Classic State Tournament for the first time since 2004 when they advanced to the championship game.
Sophomore forward Bryson Penn scored the Lyon’s lone goal, taking his season total to 14. Next up for Lyon County is an August 29th district clash with Trigg County (6) (2-2) in Eddyville.
