The Christian County boys’ soccer team hasn’t lost a match in two weeks, but while their play has improved, a first win remains elusive.  For the third straight outing the Colonels tied, this time a 2-2 result in Paducah against St. Mary.

The Colonels (0-1-3), 10th in the YourSportsEdge.com rankings, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in only the second minute of the contest on a goal by senior forward Luis Macario, with an assist from junior Ben Settle.  Sophomore Yeffrey Macario doubled the lead on a penalty kick in the 17th minute, but St. Mary would get a goal back in the 36th minute, ending the half at 2-1.  In the 57th minute, St. Mary (2-4-1) would get a penalty kick of its own to tie the game, and while the Colonels had some great opportunities over the last 30 minutes, they couldn’t find the winning goal.

On August 31st, Christian County will welcome 11th ranked Hopkins County Central (1-3) to the Stadium of Champions.
