But the match came at a good time for Hoptown, ranked 12th in the statewide Maher Rankings released Monday. Despite being winless, Owensboro is ranked 47th in the same statewide computer rankings.
Caleb Joiner had a pair of goals, including a penalty kick, while Ethan Noel had a goal and an assist. Ethan Bailey had eight saves in goal as the Tiger defense notched their second shutout in three games.
Hopkinsville (3-0) will host Madisonville (4-0) in a matchup of the last remaining unbeaten teams in the Second Region.
