The Hopkinsville Tigers boys’ soccer team was set to travel to Bowling Green to compete in the Purples Classic this weekend, but weather has forced the tournament to be canceled.
The tournament was set to feature a tantalizing rematch between the Tigers and the defending state champion, Daviess County Panthers. The Panthers knocked the Tigers out of the state tournament in the round of sixteen last season before going on to win the program’s first state championship.
The Tigers, undefeated and ranked 1st in the YourSportsEdge.com Second Region boys’ soccer rankings, will now play their next match September 7th at the Stadium of Champions against 8th District rival Christian County (1-1-3).
