VIDEO – Trigg Flips Script on Crittenden, Rallies for Win

Cam Jordan ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns against Crittenden County.

For the second straight week, Trigg County fell behind by two touchdowns in the first half and then flipped the script to get the win. The Wildcats rallied from 14 points down to beat Crittenden County 29-20 Friday in Marion and move to 2-1 for the first time since 2013.

Sophomore quarterback Cam Jordan ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 113 yards. His 82-yard touchdown run with a minute left sealed Trigg County’s first win in Marion since 1997.

Crittenden jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead on touchdown runs of five yards by Gavin Dickerson and two yards by Devon Nesbitt. Trigg answered with touchdowns runs of 30 and 15 yards by Jordan. A pair of two-point conversions gave the Wildcats a 16-14 lead.

Trigg tacked on a third score of the half on a 1-yard run by Tyson Bush to take a 23-14 lead. Crittenden County answered on a 16-yard scoring pass from Hunter Boone to Ethan Dossett with 3:56 left before halftime. It was a big night for Dossett, who caught 12 passes for 154 yards.

With Trigg leading 23-20, neither team scored in the third quarter although Crittenden’s Cody Belt missed a 23-yard field goal. Crittenden missed on another scoring opportunity when Boone was picked off by Kirome Bingham in the end zone with just over 3:00 left. Boone finished 17-of-35 passing for 180 yards but was picked off three times by the Wildcat defense.

Trigg County (2-1) will travel to Ballard Memorial Friday to play the Bombers (0-2).
