The Christian County boys’ soccer team(2-2-3) picked up a big 2-0 win over Trigg County (3-4) at the Stadium of Champions Tuesday night. The Colonels, ranked 10th in the YourSportsEdge.com 2nd Region boys’ rankings, have now won two of their last three, while Trigg, ranked 5th, has lost three of four.
Christian County opened the scoring in the first half off a goal from junior Ben Settle on an assist from senior Luis Macario, and added a late insurance goal from junior Fernando Lopez.
The Colonels will carry momentum into their 8th District match-up with top-ranked and undefeated Hopkinsville (4-0) on Thursday, while the Wildcats are left to try to find some answers heading into this weekend’s Muhlenberg County Classic.
