Heritage Christian Academy picked up their second win of the season Tuesday with a 5-3 road win at North Hardin Christian Tuesday in Vine Grove. HCA came into the game ranked sixth in the first KCAA Power Poll of the season, one slot behind North Hardin.
Clay Bonner scored a goal in each half, and HCA outscored North Hardin 3-1 in the second half. Ryan Trapnell, Thomas West, and Lawson Ashby also had goals for the Warriors, whose defense shined in the second half.
“Sometimes a coach just has to realize that if the game isn’t coming to the players, you have to make changes in the way you play the game,” said Head Coach Tony Henson. “Tonight, we changed our primary formation, and we looked like a different team. Our passing was more fluid, our communication was outstanding, and our effort was the best it has been all season.”
Heritage Christian (2-5-1) returns to action September 15th at Highland Latin.
“Hopefully this is the start of this team shaking off some of this funk that we have been in and finishing the second half of this season with a little more determination,” Henson said.
