Saints Peter and Paul Elementary School took first place at the Owensboro Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Yellow Creek Park.
Tobias Duncan was just edged at the finish line by Owensboro’s Jacob Coleman. Duncan finished second, followed by Ryan Luckey in third place, Josiah Braboy (10th), Elias Braboy (14th), and Matt Baker (23rd).
As a team, Saints Peter and Paul won with 45 points, which was eight better than Owensboro and Spottsville who tied for second place.
Saints Peter and Paul had two runners in the top 10 of the middle school boys’ race. Walter Kunnmann finished fifth in a time of 11:11 over the 1.8-mile course. Nic Luckey was ninth in 11:42.
In the middle school girls’ race, Eva Blankenberger finished 24th with a time of 14:31.
