There wasn’t a lot of movement at the top of the region rankings, but the bottom half shuffled around quite a bit this week.
1) Henderson County (9-3) – The Lady Colonels won three of four matches at the Central Hardin Queen of the Courts Tournament and finished fifth in the Gold Division. Their only loss came to #23 Central Hardin. The Lady Colonels have matches this week against #3 Madisonville and #9 Webster County.
2) Caldwell County (8-4) – Caldwell County went 2-2 over the weekend at the Queen of the Courts Tournament, finishing fifth in the Silver Division. Caldwell’s only match this week is a Tuesday contest with Murray.
3) Madisonville (8-2) – The Lady Maroons have won four straight games and can improve their position with a Tuesday road trip to top-ranked Henderson County. Madisonville will also host #13 Union County Thursday.
4) Hopkinsville (5-5) – The Lady Tigers have won three straight district matches since returning home from the Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington. Their next two games are also district contests – Thursday at home against #5 University Heights Academy and next week against #6 Christian County.
5) University Heights (3-2) – The Lady Blazers haven’t played since Aug. 25 and won’t play again until today when they travel to #11 Trigg County. They also have road district matches at #12 Fort Campbell Wednesday and at #4 Hopkinsville Thursday.
6) Christian County (5-13) – Christian County has played the most games of any team in the region and may be suffering from a bit of fatigue. The Lady Colonels have dropped four of five contests and host #7 Webster County Tuesday and #11 Trigg County Thursday.
7) Livingston Central (12-4) – The Lady Cardinals have won six straight matches, including wins over #8 Hopkins County Central and a district win over #11 Trigg County. The Lady Cardinals step outside the region Monday to play four-win Hickman County and travel to #10 Crittenden County Tuesday.
8) Hopkins County Central (5-5) – It’s hard to get a read on the Lady Storm. They own wins over #5 UHA and #9 Webster County. Their five-set win over the Lady Trojans last week causes them to jump them in the rankings. They play McLean County and Fort Campbell this week.
9) Webster County (7-4) – The Lady Trojans beat #10 Crittenden County in five sets then lost to #8 Hopkins County Central in straight sets. They could move up next week depending on the outcomes of their matches this week with #6 Christian County Tuesday and #1 Henderson County Thursday.
10) Crittenden County (3-6) – Crittenden County’s wins have come against teams ranked below them. Their only match this week is a Tuesday home match with #7 Livingston Central.
11) Trigg County (3-4) – Trigg County took two giant steps back this week with four-set home district losses to #7 Livingston Central and #10 Crittenden County. Only UHA in the region has played fewer matches than Trigg County, and that’s because they took two weeks off. Trigg will play three matches this week – Monday against #5 UHA, Tuesday against #13 Union County, and Thursday with #6 Christian County.
12) Fort Campbell (2-12) – The Lady Falcons won a match over the weekend at the Rocky Top Classic. After a Monday match with West Creek, they play at #8 Hopkins County Central Tuesday and host #5 University Heights Wednesday.
13) Union County (3-11) – Union County has lost all eight of their matches with Second Region teams. They could snap that Tuesday at #11 Trigg County. They also play at #3 Madisonville Thursday.
