Caldwell County continued their recent win-loss pattern with a 6-0 win over Paducah Tilghman Monday at the Butler Stadium. The Lady Tiger have alternated wins and losses over their five matches in improving to 6-4 on the season.
Caldwell failed to connect on a multitude of first half shots and finished the first half in a scoreless tie with the 1-8 Blue Tornado. The Lady Tigers wasted no time in getting things going in the second half as Meridan Giannini scored inside the first minute.
Later, Caldwell would add three goals in an eight-minute span to extend the lead to 4-0. Mackenzie Smiley netted a hat trick for Caldwell County, while Giannini, Morgan McDaniels, and Kaylee McEnaney each had one goal.
The back line of Kristen Jackson, Kelsie Adams, and Hannah Young along with goalie Katlyn Manley recorded Caldwell’s fifth shutout of the season.
Caldwell County plays a Seventh District contest Thursday at Hopkins County Central.
