Todd County Central is off to their best football start in over two decades, and their defense is the main reason why. The Rebels have the top scoring defense in the state, according to statistics released Thursday by the KHSAA.
The Rebels have allowed 12 points in three games for an average of 4.0 per game. Bullitt Central is second at 4.3 points per contest.
Todd County also ranks 11th among Class 2A schools in Rushing Defense (126 yards per game) and Passing Defense (91.0 yards per game).
Offensively, the Rebels are averaging only 15 points a game, but Rebel Head Coach Les Broady said he is continually adding plays to the playbook as the Rebels have installed a new offense.
Todd County could keep their defensive ranking this week as they welcome winless Fulton City to Elkton for homecoming festivities. The Bulldogs are scoring just over six points a game and have lost 11 straight games dating back to last year.
