Caldwell County’s run at the All-A Classic State Volleyball Tournament came to an end Saturday with a quarterfinal loss to Kentucky Country Day of Louisville. KCD won the opening set 25-23, but Caldwell County won the second set 25-23. KCD won the third set 25-20 to advance to the semifinals where they beat Paintsville 26-16, 25-21. KCD would lose to St. Henry in two sets in the championship match.
Caldwell County beat Harlan (25-12, 25-6) and Whitesville Trinity (25-11, 26-24) in Friday’s pool play. Saturday, they beat Bardstown (26-24, 25-23) to advance to the championship round.
Senior Carlie Peek was named to the All-Tournament team for the second consecutive year.
The Lady Tigers (12-6) return to action Tuesday in a Seventh District match at home with Hopkins County Central.
