Trigg County may have been showing the ill effects of an emotional district win over Lyon County Monday as they were shutout Tuesday 2-0 by Paducah Tilghman at the Complex.

The Wildcats failed to connect on passes throughout the contest, with Coach Josh Nichols not pleased with the team’s effort one day after picking up a 3-2 win over Lyon County.

After a scoreless first half, Paducah Tilghman (5-7-2) struck first in the second half as Kaleb White found the back of the net for a 1-0 Tornado lead. Eight minutes later, Trigg had trouble clearing the ball out of the Tilghman end of the field, and Jack Hutcheson banged home a shot for the second goal of the contest.

Trigg County (6-7) was shut out for the fourth time this season. Coming into this season, the Wildcats had been shut out five times the previous two seasons.

The Wildcats look to rebound Thursday when they host University Heights Academy.
