Trigg County had knocked off one Eighth District team in five sets but fell a bit short in their effort to repeat the feat against Hopkinsville Thursday at Wildcat Gym. Hopkinsville held on for the 27-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20 win.
Junior Karalyn Beymer had 17 kills and two aces for Hopkinsville, while London Foster had nine kills, and Chandler Adams had eight aces. Sarah Cavanah had 34 assists and six aces.
Hopkinsville improved to 7-6 with the win and will play Apollo and Christian Fellowship Saturday.
Trigg County fell to 5-8 with their fourth straight loss and will host Paducah Tilghman Monday.
