After a slow start in the first half, the Caldwell County Lady Tigers finally got things rolling in the second half on their way to a 6-1 win over Fort Campbell Thursday at Butler Stadium. Fort Campbell controlled the tempo through much of the first half, but neither team was able to get the ball in the net in a scoreless first half.
Following some “inspirational” words from Coach Eric Jacobs at the break, the Lady Tigers roared out of the gate in the second half. Laney Fletcher got Caldwell County on the board in the first five minutes of the second half and the offensive attack was underway. Fletcher would add two more goals in the first 25 minutes of the second half, while teammate MacKenzie Smiley would add two more, as the Lady Tigers exploded out to a 5-0 lead. Each team would add a late goal for the final 6-1 margin.
The win was the 4th in a row for Caldwell County and improved their record to 9-4 on the season, while the Lady Falcons lost their second in a row to fall to 4-8.
