The Murray State women’s golf team brought home the championship of the Chris Banister Golf Classic for the second-straight year when they won the title by 10 shots Tuesday at Silver Lakes Golf Course in Glencoe, Alabama. The Racers posted an event record round of 287 in the first round and ended the event with rounds of 287-304-307=898, which bested host Jacksonville State who recorded team scores of 305-302-301=908. Morehead State (928)placed third, with Tennessee Tech (930) and UAB (930) making up the top-5 squads.
It was also a good day for University Heights Academy grad Anna Moore, who led the field of five individuals in the field with a seventh place overall finish after she carded scores of 75-74-77=226.
