It was a battle into the final minutes, but the Caldwell County Tigers got the job done, defeating Union County 3-1 in a Senior Night matchup at Butler Stadium. Mitchell Scott got the Tigers on the board early, breaking away coming down the right hand side with 36:10 to go in the first half.
The Tigers appeared to control much of the first half of play, with Scott scoring again inside the final two minutes of the first half to extend the Caldwell County lead to 2-0 at the break.
The Braves came out of the half, and picked up their efforts, getting on the board just a minute into the second half on a goal from Tanner Lewis to make it 2-1. The two teams battled back and forth until Caldwell County was able to seal the win on a goal by Collin Shaffer.
The Tigers improve to 8-8-1 headed into a road match Thursday night at Fort Campbell.
