The University Heights Lady Blazers kicked off the final two weeks of the volleyball regular season in fine fashion Monday night, as they won in straight sets over the Union County Bravettes. UHA started quick and never looked back, as they picked up their 9th win on the season.
The Lady Blazers took the opening set handily at 25-12. The second set was another big win for UHA at 25-14. The Bravettes did not go without a fight however in the third set extending the Lady Blazers for more than half of the set, before UHA took control and won 25-20.
Lily Hendricks had a big night for UHA, coming up with 15 kills and 7 aces on the evening. The Lady Blazers also had solid performances from Aisha Pantiere and their only senior, Naliscya Hall, who was recognized in Senior Night ceremonies before the match.
UHA returns to action Tuesday night in a big 2nd Region showdown, when they host Caldwell County.
After the match, UHA coach Faye Hendricks talked about where her team is as they head into the final stretch.
