The Caldwell County Lady Tigers wrapped up the regular season with an exciting 2-1 win over McCracken County Thursday night at Butler Stadium. An early score an a late score turned out to be the difference in the match.
Caldwell County got on the board early Thursday evening when MacKenzie Smiley scored just three minutes in, to give the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead. That score would hold until late in the second half, when the Lady Mustangs scored with about nine minutes left in the match to even things up at 1-1.
Caldwell County had the answer though, as Taely Freeman put it into the net inside the final four minutes to give the Lady Tigers the win.
Caldwell County now waits until the 7th District championship contest Thursday night, when they will take on either Madisonville or Hopkins Central.
