The Lyon County girls’ soccer team won 6-3 over Crittenden County in the first round of the 5th District tournament in Marion. The win moves the Lady Lyons to 7-11-2, while the Lady Rockets end their season at 4-11-1.
Freshman forward Destiny Dycus scored two goals and assisted on another, while freshman forward Sydney Hoffman, senior forward Nicole Spindler, junior forward Alexis Pinnegar, and junior forward Mia Myers added a goal each.
The Lady Lyons punch their ticket to the 2nd Region tournament next week, but first will have an opportunity to win their second straight 5th District championship on Tuesday when they face Trigg County (10-5-2). The Lady Wildcats beat Lyon County twice during the regular season, 8-2 in Eddyville and 6-1 at the Recreation Complex.
