Christian County sent runners to compete in the Fast Cats Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Owensboro.
In the boys’ varsity race, Nicholas Sanderson finished in 234th place, followed by Desean Dunham (332nd), and Ryan Simpson (342nd).
Daviess County’s Hunter Kurz won the race in a time of 16:17, just ahead of Covington Catholic’s 16:24.
Covington Catholic won the team title with 44 points, followed by Montgomery Bell Academy (68) and Marshall County (135). There were 344 runners in the boys’ varsity race.
Christian County’s Ava Brison finished 196th in the girls’ varsity race.
Anderson County junior Maddy Moody won the race in a time of 18:55, which was 16 seconds ahead of second place finisher Breanna Alderton of Owensboro.
In the team competition, Daviess County had five runners in the top eight to win with 18 points. North Oldham finished second, and Harpeth Hall finished third. There were 230 runners in the girls’ varsity race.
