The 2nd Region just cannot catch a break when it comes to the draw for the state volleyball tournament. The regional pairings for the state tournament were announced Wedesday morning, and the 2nd Region got the worst possible draw it could get.
The winner of the 2nd Region tournament will be paired up against the winner of the 7th Region tournament, on Friday, November 3.
The 7th Region features three of the top six ranked teams in the state, according to the October 4th rankings. Those teams being #1 Assumption, #3 Sacred Heart, and #6 Presentation. Since the current volleyball alignment began in 2003, this will mark the 4th year that Region 2 has drawn Region 7.
The 2nd Region has never drawn Region 1, Region 4, Region 12, or Region 15.
