Hopkinsville’s Chase Atkins finished third Saturday at the Graves County Eagle Cross Country Classic in Mayfield, missing first place by just 30 seconds. Atkins ran the 3.1-mile course in 17:23. Graves County’s Garrett Wilson won the race in 16:53
Max DuBois was 44th, followed by Jamarius McKnight (79th) and Austen Turner (104th).
For the ladies, Meghan Easton brought home another top ten finish by crossing the line in eighth place in a time of 22:04. Cherish Higgs was 10th, eighth grader Allison Wood was 11th, followed by Anna Lee (33rd), and Jakayla McSwain (41st).
Hopkinsville finished in second place as a team with 67 points, behind the winner Graves County who had 23 points.
