Maddison Ruggles was the lone Fort Campbell cross country runner to participate in the Class 2A State Meet Saturday in Lexington. For the Lady Falcon senior, it was her third straight year to run in the state meet. She finished 140th with a time of 23:28. Ruggles was on pace for a top 80 finish, which would have been her best, but suffered from a cramp in the third mile.
Despite the finish, Ruggles was upbeat about her run and her career, which will likely continue into the spring on the Fort Campbell track and field team.
