The Heritage Christian Academy girls’ basketball team got out of the gate slowly on Thursday night, only managing six first half points and ultimately losing 36-24 to visiting Northside Baptist Christian School. They trailed 19-6 at the half, and twice cut the lead to nine in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t get any closer, losing 36-24.
Only two Lady Warriors got on the score sheet, with forward Rachel West pouring in 16 points, and guard Chelsea Dortch chipping in with 8. First year head coach Matt McGowan talks about the need to avoid slow starts and likes his team’s defensive effort.
