Heritage Christian Academy got some early revenge from last year as they beat Trinity Christian 33-27 Saturday in the semifinals of the Highland Latin Tournament in Louisville. HCA plays in the championship game Saturday night at 5:30.
Trinity knocked off HCA in the semifinals of last year’s state tournament on their way to the state title. On Saturday, HCA trailed 12-11 at halftime before outscoring Trinity 16-6 in the third quarter. Chelsea Dortch and Rachel West both had seven points in the frame. Hope Flournoy scored four of her eight points in the fourth quarter as the Lady Warriors held on for the six-point win. Abbi Bullock also had two points for HCA, who improve to 2-2 on the year but more importantly, have picked up two wins against KCAA competition.
