The Christian County girls’ basketball team got the season off to a good start Tuesday night, going on the road and winning 81-62 over the Muhlenberg County Lady Mustangs. The Lady Colonels avenge a one-point loss to Muhlenberg County to open last season.
Senior center Trinitee Jackson stuffed the statsheet for the Lady Colonels, scoring 24 points, hauling in 12 rebounds, and adding 4 blocks and 3 assists. Junior guard Aaliyah Hampton had a big night as well, recording 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Senior guard Laderia Gold also got into double figures, chipping in 11 points.
Christian County will be back in action on Thursday when they welcome the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm to Colonel Gym. The Lady Storm opened their season with a 50-33 win over Dawson Springs.
