Nine Hopkinsville football players have been named All Western Kentucky Conference based on their play during the 2017 football season. Players honored were:
– Sophomore quarterback Jay Bland, who threw for 2,148 yards and 22 touchdowns for the Tigers in his first full season as a starter.
– Senior receiver Gavin Marschand, who hauled in 48 passes for 1,143 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 88 receiving yards per game.
– Senior linebacker Andrew King, who had 53 tackles including 34 solo tackles. He also led the Tigers with four interceptions.
– Senior linebacker JaKevis Bryant, who led the Tigers in tackles with 64 including 39 solo tackles. Bryant also led the Tigers with three fumble recoveries.
– Senior defensive end Desaundre Green, who had 44 tackles including 24 solo tackles.
– Senior kicker Taylor Harton, who drilled six field goals and 34 point after touchdown kicks during the season. He was also the punter for the Tigers.
– Senior offensive lineman Blake Schutt, who was part of an offensive line that helped the offense average 242 total yards and 169 passing yards a game.
– Junior cornerback Jevon Leavell, who had 20 tackles and two interceptions during the season
– Sophomore running back Mitchell Degenhardt, who led the Tigers in rushing with seven touchdowns during the season. He also caught 20 passes for 390 yards and six more scores.
