Todd County Central held off a late charge from Kenwood to pick up a 55-54 win over the Knights Friday in Clarksville. The game was close throughout, with the Rebels and Knights tied 30-30 at halftime and 40-40 after three quarters.
Up one, the Rebels missed the front end of bonus free throws with 10 seconds left and had to come up with a defensive stop to preserve the win.
John Calvery led three Rebels in double figures with 14 points, while Clayte Weathers added 12 points and five assists. Colin Sharp had 10 points, and Tashaun Foster scored eight points.
Todd County Central (1-0) will travel to Fulton City Saturday, the second of three straight road games to start the season.
