The Fort Campbell boys’ basketball team made the long trip to Morganfield to face the Union County Braves on Friday night, losing 88-65 to slip to 0-2 on the young season. Union County led 27-15 after one quarter, and took a 48-30 lead into halftime. The Falcons trailed by 15 points after three quarters and were outscored 19-11 in the final frame to lose 88-65.
Senior Cameron Johnson led the Falcons with 24 points, including 14 in the second half. Sophomore Jordan Clark scored 8 in each half to finish with 16, and junior Jaylen Allen chipped in 8, all in the second half.
Junior Elex Dunford turned in a big performance for the Braves with 27 points, and senior Logan Thomas added 23.
Fort Campbell will travel to UHA on Saturday night for a boy/girl doubleheader. Both teams will be looking for their first win, with the Blazers losing their opener 69-65 to Graves County at the Marshall County Hoopfest.
