Georgetown College’s 14-0 start equals their best start under coach Chris Briggs, and Quan Poindexter is one of the leading forces.
The former Hopkinsville Tiger is averaging 15.8 points a game for the Tigers while shooting 66-percent from the floor and 58-percent from 3-point range.
In Georgetown’s 114-52 win over Simmons College Monday, Poindexter scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Earlier this year, Poindexter earned his first Mid-South Player of the Week honor when he averaged 17.8 points and 5.3 rebounds during a three-game stretch.
For the season, Poindexter is eighth in NAIA in field goal percentage and 10th in scoring.
After graduating from Hopkinsville High, Poindexter began his playing career at Southwestern Illinois College where he averaged 15.6 points a game before transferring to Georgetown.
