The Kentucky All-Stars beat their counterparts from Louisville 17-3 Sunday in the Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football Game at Elizabethtown.

Christian County senior Kolbe Langhi completed 10-of-16 passes for 142 yards in the game, with Elizabethtown’s Jay Becherer caught five of those passes for 79 yards.

Kentucky’s touchdowns came on the ground from Ryle’s Jake Chisholm and Lexington Christian’s Dillon Wheatley.
Caldwell County’s David Barnes was the head coach of the Kentucky squad, while his son Will served as offensive coordinator. Another Caldwell assistant, Waynee McGowan, coached the linebackers.

Despite the loss, Louisville leads the series 5-3. The in-state all-star game replaced the annual Kentucky-Tennessee game that was played in the summer. Organizers found it difficult to get the state’s top talent to play in the game because many had already reported to their college teams. Also, Tennessee did not want to continue the series in December.
