Logan County Hands Rebels First Loss of Season

The Todd County Rebels unbeaten start to the 2017-2018 basketball season came to an end Friday night at Logan County, as they fell to the Cougars 77-63. The Cougars put some distance between themselves and the Rebels in the 4th quarter following a foul and technical foul on Todd County junior John Calvery.

The game was a tight battle throughout much of the night. The Rebels were in front by three, at 14-11, when the first quarter came to an end. Both teams got their offenses rolling in the second quarter, with Logan County outscoring the Rebels 25-22 to tie the game at 36 at the half.

The Cougars made a move to the lead during the 3rd quarter, as they outscored Todd County 20-14 to lead 56-50 going into the final quarter. Todd County manged to cut the lead to two points before the crucial momentum swing of the foul and technical. Logan County hit free throws down the stretch to get to the final 14 point margin.

Todd County Central was led by Nolan Barrow, who scored 21 points in the contest. Logan County was led by Kelby Epley with 25 points.

The Rebels fall to 5-1 with the loss.
