Trigg County snapped a five-game losing streak and extended Fort Campbell’s season-long misery with a 53-4 win over the Lady Falcons Saturday on post. The four points allowed is the fewest in school history, breaking the old mark of 11 scored by Providence in 2001.
The Lady Wildcats scored the first 17 points of the game, leading 21-1 after one quarter and 37-1 at halftime. Trigg never pressed in the game and exclusively played a 2-3 zone. However, Fort Campbell couldn’t get any shots to fall, missing all 22 shots from the field in the first half.
With a running clock in effect, both teams scored three points in the third quarter, and Trigg outscored the Lady Falcons 13-0 in the fourth quarter.
Lauren Oliver paced three Lady Wildcats in double figures with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Katelyn Slone knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points, and DeDe Barbee came off the bench to score 12 points.
Adri Phillips grabbed 11 rebounds, and T.T. Grubbs had eight rebounds and four assists.
Eighth grader Jordan Wilson scored three points for Fort Campbell (0-8), who plays at Caldwell County Monday.
Trigg County (3-6) will host Hickman County Monday.
