Bullitt Central broke open a tight game in the 4th quarter to hand Caldwell County a 64-51 loss in the Tigers second game of the day at the BTN/WLBQ Christmas Classic at Butler County High School. The Tigers had won their first game of the day, defeating Glasgow by two points.
Bullitt Central and Caldwell County played even through the first quarter, with the quarter ending at 13-13. The Tiger defense limited the Cougars to 10 second quarter points, as Caldwell County put up 15 points of their own to take a 28-23 halftime lead.
Behind the play of Jake Mann, the Cougars came roaring out of the locker room at the beginning of the second half. Mann scored 15 points as Bullitt Central outscored Caldwell County 20-12 in the 3rd quarter and took a 43-40 lead.
The Cougars then kept the pressure up in the 4th quarter, and outscored Caldwell County 21-11 to put the game away.
For the afternoon, Caldwell County was led by Jameer Riley with 15. Cayden Fraliex added 12 points. The Cougar defense was able to contain Derrin Boyd, who ended up with 11 points in the contest. Jake Mann led Bullitt Central with 32 points.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-5 on the season.
