A slow start was the undoing of the Caldwell County Lady Tigers Thursday as they saw their six-game winning streak end with a 64-39 loss at McCracken County. Caldwell fell behind 15-6 in the first quarter and trailed 31-15 at halftime.
Meagan Hayden scored 10 of her game-high 23 points in the first half to lead the Lady Mustangs (5-4). Mary Beavers joined Hayden in double figures with 10 points as 11 different players scored for McCracken County.
Bella McConnell led Caldwell County with 15 points, while Jacey Jaggers added 11 points.
While it didn’t factor into the final margin, Caldwell didn’t help their cause by hitting 2-of-11 free throws in the contest.
Caldwell County returns to action Dec. 28 as they host Ballard Memorial in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic at the CAB.
