Lady Colonels Remain Atop Second Region Rankings – Dec. 27

There isn’t much movement in YourSportsEdge.com’s Second Region girls’ basketball rankings this week. Christian County and Webster County both took care of business to remain 1-2 atop the rankings. Henderson County’s 57-40 win over Hopkinsville moves them back ahead of the Lady Tigers into the number three spot.

1 Christian County (10-2) – The Lady Colonels won both of their games last week handily, although their road win at Todd County Central saw them use a 19-0 second half run to take control. They will have a pair of measuring stick games this week at the Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic against First Region favorite Murray and Lincoln County, one of four teams mentioned as a favorite in the 12th Region.

2 Webster County (10-3) – The Lady Trojans won the Owensboro Invitational Tournament, coming from behind to nip Owensboro Catholic by one point in the semifinals and beating No. 3 Henderson County 59-46. The Lady Trojans are playing in Riverdale, TN this week.

4 Hopkinsville (9-3) – The Lady Tigers went 2-1 at the OIT with wins over Third Region teams Daviess County and Owensboro. Hopkinsville will play in the FNB Holiday Bash at South Warren this week.
