Dyersburg used a 9-2 run midway through the fourth quarter to hand Caldwell County a 58-55 setback in the final game of the West Kentucky Hoops Classic Friday in Princeton.
It was a tight affair, featuring 16 ties and 11 lead changes with neither team leading by more than five points.
However, the difference was Dyersburg’s ability to get to the free throw line in the fourth quarter where they hit 6-of-8 while Caldwell was just 2-of-4. The Trojans also scored 15 points off 13 Caldwell County turnovers.
Jameer Riley led the Tigers with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Derrin Boyd battled foul trouble to score 18 points and haul down nine rebounds. Jamarius Blane added nine points.
Dyersburg (10-3) got 18 points from Brandon Williams.
Caldwell County (5-7) returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Dawson Springs for a Seventh District battle.
