Todd County Central improved to 4-0 on the season in games decided by five points or less with a 59-55 win Saturday at Calloway County.
The Rebels trailed 43-42 after three quarters, but Rebel big man Jon Calvery scored 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to help Todd outscore the Lakers 17-12 in the final frame.
Todd County led for most of the first half, taking a 28-25 lead into intermission. Calloway outscored the Rebels 18-14 in the third quarter to grab the lead.
In addition to Calvery’s 22 points, he pulled down nine rebounds. Collin Sharp added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Nolan Barrow added nine points.
The Rebels received the rare free throw advantage of teams visiting the First Region, knocking down 20-of-32 at the charity stripe compared to 8-of-13 by Calloway County.
Jeremy Darnell knocked down eight 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 27 points. Carson Chapman had nine points for the Lakers (6-10).
Todd County Central (9-6) will host Logan County Friday with first place on the line in the 13th District.
