Lady Colonels Stay Atop Region Rankings

If anything, Christian County and Webster County have started to distance themselves from the rest of the region. Both teams are riding five-game winning streaks heading into the weekend.

1 Christian County (14-4) – The Lady Colonels have settled back into region play with wins and are scheduled to play No. 4 Hopkinsville Friday. They also have a showdown with No. 3 Henderson County on Jan. 20.

2 Webster County (16-4) – The Lady Trojans scored convincing wins over No. 3 Henderson County (62-35) and No. 5 Caldwell County (58-27). Looking long-term, Webster does have a game with No. 1 Christian County on Feb. 13.

3 Henderson County (6-7) – Henderson County dropped a 62-35 district contest to No. 2 Webster County and will see the Lady Trojans again on Jan 26. They have another district game with No. 11 Union County this week.

4 Hopkinsville (14-5) – Hoptown appears locked into the No. 4 slot for the time being. Their 17-point loss to Henderson County last month keeps them there, especially after a 79-52 loss to Graves County Tuesday.

5 Caldwell County (10-5) – After losing to No. 2 Webster County, the Lady Tigers slipped past No. 8 Madisonville by four points. They have a key district game this week against No. 7 Hopkins County Central.

6 Hopkins County Central (9-9) – The Lady Storm picked up a win over No. 11 Union County and can make a move in the rankings with upcoming games against No. 5 Caldwell County and No. 2 Webster County.

7 Livingston Central (9-9) – The Lady Cardinals have dropped three of their last four games, struggling to beat No. 12 Trigg County and losing to No. 11 Union County.

8 Madisonville (4-10) – The Lady Maroons spent the week thumping No. 13 University Heights and falling four points short to No. 5 Caldwell County.

9 Lyon County (9-4) – The Lady Lyons notched a big district win over No. 10 Crittenden County and will face another district foe, No. 7 Livingston Central, Thursday.

10 Crittenden County (8-7) – The Lady Rockets picked up a pair of six-point wins over Paducah Tilghman and No. 14 Dawson Springs following a district loss to No. 9 Lyon County. They will see Lyon County again next week in the All-A Classic Region Tournament as they look the defend their region title.

11 Union County (4-12) – The Bravettes lost to No. 6 Hopkins County Central but knocked off No. 7 Livingston Central. They have an upcoming game with No. 3 Henderson County and a road game at No. 12 Trigg County next week.

12 Trigg County (6-9) – Trigg County appears to be playing better with a loss to No. 7 Livingston Central and a 17-point loss to Calloway County. Trigg looks to snap a long district losing streak Thursday against No. 10 Crittenden County.

13 University Heights (5-9) – The Lady Blazers have dropped three of four games but can turn things around in the next week with games against No. 14 Dawson Springs and No. 15 Fort Campbell.

14 Dawson Springs (3-12) – The Lady Panthers’ only win against region competition came against Fort Campbell. They will play No. 13 UHA in the All-A Classic Region next week.

15 Fort Campbell (0-11) – The Lady Falcons have upcoming games with No. 13 UHA, No. 9 Lyon County, and against No. 7 Livingston Central.
