A fourth member of the Trigg County baseball team has committed to play baseball in college and will join his brother at Brescia University.

Darrin Brown announced his commitment to the Owensboro school on his Twitter account Saturday. He joins his twin brother Micah who committed to Brescia last month.

As a catcher and corner infielder for Trigg County last year, Brown hit .277 with seven multi-hit games, 22 RBIs and reached base in 24 of 26 games.

Brown also played on the American Legion Post #68 team that won the state junior championship over the summer. He batted .426 with five doubles and 16 RBIs for the Aces.

In addition to his brother, Darrin joins fellow Trigg County seniors Jake Terrell (Vol State College) and Ashton Plymale (Transylvania University) in announcing their college choice prior to the season.

Brescia is coached by Henderson County alum Christian McHatton, who is in his first season as head coach of the Bearcats, who play in the NAIA River States Conference. Brescia was 13-38 last year.

They will join Lyon County’s Brody Bridges and Dawson Springs’ Kevin Brooks as area baseball players who have committed to the Bearcats for 2018.
