Heritage Christian Academy used a 20-3 third quarter run to knock off No. 3 Highlands Latin 58-50 Saturday in Louisville. The win avenged a 56-44 loss to the Highlanders back on Dec. 9.
Gavin Fowler scored 11 of his game-high 22 points in the third quarter run as the Warriors erased a 32-22 halftime deficit. Dalton Folz added 17 points, and Rajah Mills scored eight for HCA.
The conference win was HCA’s first of the season. The Warriors entered the week sitting just outside the KCAA Top 10, but can improve their standing with five of their next seven games against league competition.
After a Monday game at Hendersonville, Tennessee, HCA (9-9) will travel to top-ranked and unbeaten Oak Ridge Friday.
